Sumaria Systems awarded $49.9 million Air Force contract for AF/A2 Advisory & Assistance Services (A&AS)
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Sumaria Systems, Inc., provider of information, technology, engineering and professional services and solutions, has been awarded the $49.9 million Air Force contract for Advisory & Assistance Services (A&AS) to the Department of the Air Force, Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (AF/A2).

Sumaria and its team of subcontractors will provide a full range of integrated business services in support of the AF/A2 and the USAF’s Director of ISR Programs mission. The AF/A2C is responsible for planning, programming and operational employment of AF reconnaissance assets and the Air Force Distributed Common Ground System (AF DCGS). Sumaria’s support includes, but is not limited to, Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS), including advanced planning, acquisition support, engineering analysis, and direct operational support. Services are focused on concept development, program development, integration planning, systems acquisitions, systems integration, physical and system security, and ongoing operations support. Tasks include working aspects of AF/A2C weapon systems programs, and work with MAJCOMs and other national mission partner organizations.

The AF/A2 is responsible for policy formulation, planning, evaluation, oversight and leadership of Air Force Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities. AF/A2 provides planning, programming and budgeting oversight, as well as functional guidance for Military Intelligence and National Intelligence Programs (MIP/NIP) for the Air Force. The AF/A2 also interfaces with Congressional, OSD, DNI, Joint and MAJCOM staffs to meet warfighter needs.

The Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (AF/A2) with headquarters at the Pentagon, Washington, D.C., was established January 1, 2007 and reports directly to the Chief of Staff of the Air Force. AF/A2 is the Headquarters USAF focal point for the end-to-end functional management of all Air Force ISR capabilities.
